Time and place. The meeting was conducted at 12 noon in on USF Tampa in EDU 314 and on Zoom.
Minutes. August 15 minutes approved.
Attendance. Fifteen members.
Recognition. The Chapter recognized retiring activists and member Karin Braunsberger for her service as grievance chair and bargaining chair.
President’s Report.
- Consultation with Academic Affairs. Political operatives are targeting faculty.
- Meeting of the Board of Trustees. Twenty faculty attended, many wearing t-shirts, and three faculty addressed the Board on freedom of expression, harassment, and procedure.
- UFF Senate. Discussion.
New Business.
- Outside Teaching. Some department chairs have informed faculty that they may not teach at other institutions. Discussion.
- Paychecks and insurance. The Council of Deans was concerned about missing paychecks and failure to forward insurance premium payments.
Reports.
- Membership. We need to meet at USFSM.
- Treasury. We are solvent, but the budget strategy will need to be addressed.
